LILJA showcases a new album at Oslojazz

May 8th, 2026:

Oddrun Lilja is a guitarist and composer with a background in jazz education. She has performed concerts on five continents, composed a work about artistic freedom of expression for the KORK, written the commissioned piece for the 50th anniversary of Vossa Jazz, and collaborated with musicians from all over the world. Later this summer, her new album Muna will be released, celebrated with a release concert at Kulturkirken Jakob Wednesday August 12th! Tickets can be purchased here.

Muna is an existential album that moves through the different phases of life, including on the recent single Golden Hour, where she approaches life’s final, inevitable chapter with an open gaze. “It was by far the most difficult song to write,” says Oddrun Lilja. “But once it came, the whole thing arrived at once.” The song’s final line, “The golden hour shimmering,” is mirrored in the composition itself: An off-kilter tapestry of strings by Oddrun Lilja, Anders Røine, and Jo Skaansar forms, together with Norbakken’s percussion, a foundation for Beady Belle’s soulful vocals and Bugge Wesseltoft’s organ.

The album Muna will be celebrated with a large-scale concert at Kulturkirken Jakob during Oslo Jazzfestival, featuring LILJA’s faithful quartet, guest vocals by Karoline Wallace, and backing vocals by Ung vokal. It promises to be an atmospheric concert not to be missed!
